Time for a little vacationing back in Malaysia. A picture of a pedicab seem appropriate right about now.

Basket of Bliss

Ski goggles, balaclava and lobster mitts stuck into a helmet

A delightful ensemble adorned with balaclava, lobster mittens and tinted ski goggles in a crash-resistant headgear. An ideal gift for the winter two-wheeled commuter looking to eliminate skin exposure.

Porous for its thick-threaded origins, the Crimean-named breathable sheath resists winds and provides high levels of heat insulation. Observations of ice accumulation at engine exhausts are common.

Ice forming on the balaclava, formed from the condensation of breath

Keep the engine running smoothly even on the dullest overcast days with a premium band of chromatic enhancer.

Don’t forget to finish off the top with ample crumple zone to prepare for the unfortunate moments.

Available at your LBS.

Comparison between bicycle lanes in the summer and in the winter

Snow all over the crossing of Carden and Wyndham Streets in Guelph

Slippery winter conditions on Gordon Street, Guelph

Rougher tires for a rougher season:

These are 27” Tioga Bloodhound tires I got from MEC. Grip is pretty good, feeling in control most of the time. I slipped once on black ice, which may be avoided with some studded tires; or if I paid more attention to the road.

Random bike #3 - Hung up bike

Hung up bike

Someone pulling a prank out on a poor cyclist? Maybe an attempt to raise cycling awareness?

First snowfall

November 11, 2008
First furries dropping on my cycling mitts
Little frozen water drops getting caught in my mitts

Ah, the season has finally arrived. We ought to get used to waking up in the dark, crawling out of the cold sheets, and somehow, somehow, manage to get to work by the usual means. For the committed cyclist, does this spell the end of the cycling season?More...

About

I have a natural tendency to take pictures and cycle; they had been my hobbies for years. Some people say writing what you love makes you more passionate about it. I set this site up, hoping they’re right. More about me
